Unable to travel, worrying about loosing money. Good News! now you can transfer your ticket to relatives.
Indian Railways has made an important initiative to help passengers to transfer their tickets to other person, in case one is not able to travel.

Going into details, if a person is holding a confirmed ticket and is unable to travel, then the ticket can be transferred to his family members.Family members include:
- Father
- Mother
- Brother
- Sister
- Son
- Daughter
- Husband or
- Wife
This ticket can also be transferred to any other government servants travelling on duty, by transferring it within 24 hours of departure of train.
Further ticket can also be transferred to a student at the request of head or principal of recognized educational institution, request to be made at least 48 hours before the departure of concern train.
A person who is a member of a marriage party can transfer it other person within 48 hours of departure of train, if the head of such marriage party makes request.
Ticket can also be transferred by cadets of NCC to other member of such NCC. Request should be made within 24 hours of departure of train. Such change should be made only once if request as above and does not exceed 10% of total number of members in a group.
Person who want to transfer their tickets as mentioned above cases, should approach station master or chief reservation supervisor and submit their application. He must also submit a photo copy of the proof of his relationship with the person to whom the ticket would be transferred and he must also submit age proof.
Finally, on due verification station manager should permit such transfer.
